Oops...

Ok your probably not going to read this for a while because you probably checked the blog and saw no new blog... that is because we were at a cafe next to the bus that was going to take us to Pompeii and my mom set down her bag, which had my ipad, my computer, her computer, and both of our passports!! yea so she left it there and we were about 10 blocks away before we realized we forgot it, we couldn't go back:( so the bus tour people put it in their office. so i couldt blog for about 3 days... we went to pompeii and saw a bunch of stones and vases and a dead dog and about 4 or 5 people in plaster and we saw their bones.
The next day we went to capri and anacapri. Capri is the lower part of the island and anacapri is the higher part of the island, ana means above so = above Capri. At this place you can get a ski lift ride on a one person chair lift up to the very top and then it takes you back down, it was really cool:)
the next day we went to Sorrento, Italy (i probably spelt that wrong) and the hotel was NIIIIIIICE. they had a very awesome veiw, an orange, lemon, and comaquot (lol) grove. Reynolds and i threw lemons off of the the edge of the hotel cliff thing and they hit the water or the deck below.. oopsy... then we stopped because the dude below called the desk and told them of someone throwing lemons, so they called the police and i saw them at the hotel so yea... why am i telling you this... lol,
so we left that hotel, not because of that but becaus ethe tour people were taking us to the next place - Florence, Italy. Florence is known for their leather work, so we obviously got some stuff there.. tehehe.. My mom got a coat, we got hannah something, and of siimilar kinds of a type of thing (confusing speech) for the guys... We got some other things at the markets also.
We then took the fastest (and only) train i've been on. it had chairs that faced eachother and i liked those, roo and i walked back to the eating cart and got some pasta, fanta, and pringles (great mix, huh?) i like trains more than planes because you are on the ground going really fast that looks cool and because there is no turbulance so you can always walk around...
the train took us to Venice, Italy, which is famous for their glass making, and we got off and had to carry our bags up a long bridge, funfun...lol... we got to our hotel and went to the sqaure of st. mark, with the famous pigeons, and you know how pigeons wont go towards you? well roo and i went up to them with food/snacks and they flew up onto us on our heads and arms and it was the best part of the day:) today we had a walking tour and we went back to St mark's square and we went inside the buildings. The tour guide tod us, and i saw, that there was more than 80,000 square meters of gold on the cielings in there!! i was (thinking) like, "can i have a ladder?" yea, so there was literaly TONS of gold. after that we went to the glass factory and the dude made a vase and kitty for us and it was so cool to watch, then we bought alot of stuff there... lol:P
So here i am in Venice on a pre-pay computer, lol... i come home on wednesday morning(get there late at night) I AM SO READY TO GET TO A COUNTRY WITH ENGLISH AS THE MAIN LANGUAGE...lol... no its been nice here but im just ready to get home...

Ready for home my pillow,
Jeff

Going to Pompeii in the Morning!

Jeff here and its 11:38 pm:( i need to blog earlier than this... lol:P Today was more of a shopping day for me. We looked at clothes at Benetton (a place with some really cool stuff) they had some cool pants that were faded pink/gray color (yea it sounds like pants that are not cool, but they are!) lol.. We also... went to the FERRARI STORE! cha-chinge! i got stuff:) hehe... I got stuff for all my sibs, here are some hints: Hannah's - Inscript, Write, Draw, Sam - water dryer on body, Jared - rhymes with "gravel" and also is like sam's gift thing. anywho!
this early morning we met a man that had been going to the NAC (North American Catholic/College). He took us to their campus and we attending "mass" it is kinda like church, only the service part of it is sooo short, oh and the incense smelled funny/nice. After that we went to brunch, still at their campus, and ate french toast and eggs. they took us on their soccer feild (LOL) and it was better than astro grass (its softer) and its made of tires. but anyway, Reynolds and I looked down across the grass and heat was coming off of it:) it was kewl!
I am so tired so i am going to do a summary of what i didn't tell you about what we did. We went to the top of St. Peter's Basilica, we went to the N.A.C., we walked around town to the prison Paul was at (it was closed) we went to the Ferrari store, and we ate the best pizza ever! bye all!!
So very sleepy,

Lots of Stuff:)

Today had a TON of stuff wedged into it: St. Peter's Basilica (again, but better) its in the Vatican (the smallest country in the world, right in Rome, but not in it at the same time... lol.) It has a pop. of roughly 2,000 people, and right outside of St. Peter's Basilica there is a place that holds 20,000 people! (for when the pope comes). I mentioned going back into St. P's B. (sorry too much to type, its 11:38 at night here) anyhow... we went in there and saw that the dead popes were buried under one fancy gold man-hole thing, and the "good" popes were preserved in wax above in their own glass box (AND WE SAW IT:) = coooooool... Reynolds and I got some "Holy Water" and sprinkle it at each other pretending that we were blessing one another..tehehe:P
St. Peter's bones were found in the cemetery that is now under the church. They were not know to be his until they saw that the bones had no feet, his were cut off and the bones dated back to Jesus' Time. You can only go to the place where he is buried of you reserve a spot months in advance! So yea, "no can do for you go there".. thats prolly something one of the italians would say to us if we couldn't do something...lol:P confuzzling...
The day before we say some huge paintings, but today... we were told (and saw) that they were actually...M-O-S-A-I-C! that was, by quote, "Over a million mosaics, not painted, but found in that color) crazy, i know.
So tomorrow we get to go up to the tippy top of this Basilica and look down, did i mention that thats over 60 meters high! and the dome itself is a whole football field! this stuff is truly amazing:) and it looks like the dome is painted, but guess what... its not... it is another mosaic. that is a whole football field of stones the size of your finger-nail, NOT PAINTED I SAY!) that took 16 years to finish... looong time(:{) (its an italian... lol) there is also an alter that is 30 meters high and it is all bronze but the columns are hollow so... yea. We went to the Trevi Fountain and threw coins in it... mine hit the stone sculptures and you could hear it... MWAHAHAHAaa!
Its now midnight... 12:19 am... June 6th 2010... i want to go to bed... Oh yea! the Colosseum:) it was cool... lol jk i will explain more. The outside of the place didn't break or fall apart or collapse in the middle ages, instead people stole the slabs of marble that the building was made out of so that they could make sculptures... so yea, it did break from earthquakes later, but the main outside was "destroyed" by people in the middle ages (trying to make it clear:) lol. someone stopped that "destroying". In the early 1900s 2 archaeologists made the slanting part at the end of the walls to keep it from breaking (smart:). we saw where the animals and people were kept underground and it was pretty destroyed and weedy (that'll probably happen with 1500 years of wear and tear.) 12:28 am... man, i type SLOW... After tomorrow we are going to get a bus and/or train ride to Pompeii:)!!!

Sorry if it seams like i haven't blogged in a while... Rome, Italy is 8 hours ahead of MT and 6 hours ahead of EST (of course:) So its 8:30 pm while it is 12:30 pm (afternoon) in SD and 2:30 pm in FL. Now for something random: When we were still at the hotel, Reynolds was flinging his key-card in the air and it got stuck in the light, under the light, which was stuck in a glass case. so yea, it got through pretty weirdly. Later, We got on our plane from Dallas to Phillie and that took 3 hours. After getting off the plane, it was time to board the flight from Phillie to Venice. We got on the plane and the rows were 2-3-2 and that was cool. The first class had seats that reclined farther and had a leg rest that came out with a push of a button. We had to sleep so we wouldn't get jet-lag. They had TV's on the ceiling and they played -> How I Met Your Mother (T'was about a flying beetle/mouse and some dude finding love), Dear John (good movie, non-conclusional ending), Fantastic Mr. Fox (Kept reminding me of "Domo-ari-gotoe mister robot-o, Domo" It was about the animals fighting against the farmers and yea...), Percy Jockson and the Olympians (Already saw it, so i slept through it, but it was about the son of Poseidon, who is accused of stealing Zeus' bolt and he returns it and they all live, but not Hermes Son, he was stabbed in the throat with a water-made trident). The flight took 12 hours... they served drinks 4 times, gave out Danishes (My favorite part of the flight) and fed us chicken or pasta (your choice, but don't pick pasta: not that good) Other then that and tryng to sleep against Roo's hip (which is anything but comfortable) the plane ride had nothing going on. We made it Venice and went to our plane to take us to Rome. It was only 45 minutes so Reynolds and I played my "Millionaire Tycoon" game the whole time. When we got to Rome we came out to the baggage claim, which didn't bring luggage out until what seemed like an hour. We got in a taxi after we got our bags, went to the hotel, and walked/took the Metropolitan to the Vatican. That place has soooo many sculptures of naked dudes, popes, and more naked dudes! very odd... There was also a purple marble that a bunch of these people used up and there is no more today, but i saw the purple marble all over the Vatican, so yea... THEY won't be running out of it any time soon. We saw a bunch of incredible paintings on the wall, including the one with God and Adam almost touching fingers, but got no picture because the people were very, very, VERY strict on having everyone not taking pictures. They would go, "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhh!" very loudly and they would do that every minute. there were more than 30 rugs that were over 12'x14' the resurrection rug of Jesus made his knee and eyes follow you. WE saw mummys, stones, vases full of guts, mummy tombs, a hallway filled with well over 1000 sculptures of different heads, a big revolving ball with a cool design in it, big archways, dead pope's clothing, where St. Peter was crucified, and we heard the sermon going on in the Church also, some good organ (i think). So yea... On to tomorrow!

Lovin' It
